20 Rupees India Govt. Mint Vibrant Gujarat Summit Commemorative Coin (Rs.20 Coin)

Commemorative Coins :

India Government Mint, Mumbai also manufactures commemorative coins apart from
manufacturing circulation coins. These coins are issued to commemorate events of historical
and social importance and to celebrate various accomplishments of public and private
organizations. India Government Mint, Mumbai has been releasing commemorative coins since
1964. The commemorative coins issued by the Mint are of very high quality and have a great
demand among coin collectors and numismatists.

Commemorative coins are of two types
Proof Coins
Uncirculated Coins

Proof Coins:

Proof coins are the high quality commemorative coins which have a frozen effect on the surface
design of the coin with a mirror finish. These coins are marked with the symbol 'M' to indicate
that they are manufactured at Mumbai Mint. These coins are sold at a premium price as they
are manufactured with high quality standards and have high numismatic value.
Uncirculated Coins:
Uncirculated coins are the high quality commemorative coins which have mirror finish on the
surface but without any frozen effect on the design. These coins are marked with a diamond
symbol to indicate they are stamped at Mumbai Mint. The uncirculated coins are also sold at
premium but they are priced a little lower than the proof coins.
History

In 1964 production of commemorative coins was started. The first commemorative coin was in
the memory of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The agenda of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 will be carrying forward the national priorities and themes of G20 and I2U2, spreading its reach and vibrancy at state, national and international level.

As a precursor to the Summit, a programme was planned in Ahmedabad to celebrate 20 years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success. The programme showcased the evolution of Gujarat from the inception in 2003 as an event to attract investments in the state to working towards a global leadership in 2024.

In addition, various seminars and events organized to showcase Gujarat’s distinctive accomplishments, strengths across sectors, and its preparedness to lead the visions of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Various themes of the seminars are Food security, Advanced Technology, Startups & Innovation, Health care and Life Science, Sustainability to name a few.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024,  showcased ‘TECHADE and Disruptive Technologies’ with a focus on Champion Services Sector including Digital India initiatives, India Stack, Emerging technologies (Industry 4.0, Smart manufacturing, AI/ML to name a few), Smart Infrastructure / Smart Cities, Consumer technology as well as application of technology in various service sectors such as financial services, healthcare, education, environment, tourism & hospitality
